Not long ago, POE 2 Dawn of the Hunt league was updated, introducing Ascendancy for five classes and adding a new class: Huntress to enrich the gameplay.
For other classes, only some balance adjustments were made to Ascendancy. However, classes such as Blood Mage, which have long had problems with ascendancy, have not received a wonderful improvement.
Combining the damage output, map clearing ability, map exploration ability, learning difficulty, equipment diversity and other aspects of each class, and considering the patches since Dawn of the Hunt league, the strength of each class is ranked.
Class Strength Rankings
Each class has its own unique features and is suitable for different players. Similarly, players should choose the class that suits them best, rather than having to choose the strongest one. The following is a ranking of each class:
- S: Mercenary, Ranger
- A: Warrior, Witch, Huntress
- B: Sorcerer, Monk
The following will introduce each class according to the above order.
Class Introduction
1. Mercenary
In Path of Exile 2, Mercenary is an excellent class with high damage, flexible combos and gameplay. Facing different enemies, you can choose elemental damage and crossbows of different elements to attack, making it competent in various environments and situations.
Moreover, he does not only focus on a single element, but can also mix Power Shots with Fire Grenade Witchhunter and Ice Shot.
Although this class is easy to learn in the early stages, both new players and veteran exiles can use it proficiently. However, in the later stages of the game, the learning curve and cost are very high. You need to constantly buy POE 2 Currency and invest in improving his stats to maintain his stable performance in the endgame, which is not friendly to some players with limited budgets.
And Tactician Ascendancy adds a series of crowd control skills, self-buff skills and new Support Skills to Mercenary, making Mercenary more powerful.
2. Ranger
Ranger is a ranged class that fires elemental arrows and deals a lot of area damage to enemy groups. Ranger’s powerful single-target damage means he always has an advantage when facing powerful bosses. Even though some of her skills have been weakened recently, most bosses in POE 2 lack poison resistance, so this is still an excellent and powerful class.
3. Warrior
Warrior is the only class that can block enemy attacks and has a stun effect. Their warcries can provide buffs to themselves and also damage enemies, but their damage is lower than that of other classes.
The disadvantage of Warrior is its melee attribute, which makes it more prone to life-threatening situations. It also does not have many options for its equipment, but in the boss station, its effect on self-buffs, enemy debuffs, and bone-shattering attacks in group battles is particularly obvious.
4. Witch
Witch is a summoner who can summon minions from dead enemies, but can also specialize in spell-casting, pinning enemies in place and providing buffs to minions.
Her skill set is excellent, and she can use her different elements and ailments to clear groups of enemies and deal damage to bosses, which also allows her to adapt to the weaknesses of various enemies.
Despite this, Witch’s survivability is problematic. She is more fragile than other classes and takes a long time to become powerful. As well as the minions they summon are weak at first and require upgrades and a considerable amount of skill points to have significant damage and survivability.
5. Huntress
Huntress is a new class in Dawn of the Hunt league. It can quickly switch between melee and ranged attacks, and deal some damage to bosses by quickly shuttling around the battlefield.
However, Huntress is very dependent on equipment and needs to be equipped with the right equipment to maximize combat intensity. If there is no POE2 Currency to get the right equipment, her damage and self-protection capabilities are not satisfactory.
6. Monk
Monk is a melee hero, but his attack is slow, so he may be interrupted and attacked before he can complete his attack.
Monk can deal damage to bosses, but since most of his combos rely on constantly switching between dodging and attacking, he requires higher operating skills.
However, since advanced skills cannot be unlocked until the later stages of the game, he is relatively weak in the early stages of the game.
7. Sorceress
Sorceress focuses on elemental magic, but because of its low skill diversity, and its equipment and gameplay are limited, its defense is not very good.
And this class will also rely too much on mana, which will cause some of its buffs and combos to play their best role only when there is enough mana in the later stage.
So it is very weak in the early stage of the game, and you may need to choose more resources and some specific equipment for it to compete with other classes.
With the continuous updates of POE 2, the strength of each class in the game may change in the future, but no matter what, players will choose the class that suits them to better experience the game.
